Forma narrativa e identidad en la convencionalización del recuerdo de historias nacionales

Drawing on Bartlett’s method of repeated reproduction, we analyse how two different historical versions of the Irish conflict — constructed with the same historical events but through different narrative forms — are remembered in three recall sessions by subjects with different national feelings of belonging (Spanish and Basque) and positions in relation to that conflict. The conventionalization and rationalization of memories is also analysed by examining the transformation of the material in the three sessions. Results show two different recall profiles resulting from each version of the story. While in the pro-Irish version repressive events justifying the struggle for Irish independence were more remembered, the pro-British version is reconstructed on those more institutional events that legitimize the maintenance of the United Kingdom. Partiendo del enfoque de Bartlett y su método de reproducción repetida, se ha analizado cómo dos versiones sobre la historia de Irlanda — elaboradas con los mismos eventos pero mediante diferentes formas narrativas — median el recuerdo de sus respectivos contenidos en tres sesiones de recuerdo realizadas por sujetos con distintos sentimientos de pertenencia nacional (española y vasca) y posicionamientos en relación a dicho conflicto. Asimismo, se ha analizado la convencionalización y racionalización del recuerdo, examinando la transformación del material en las tres sesiones. Los resultados muestran dos perfiles de recuerdo diferentes correspondientes a cada versión de la historia. Mientras en la versión pro-irlandesa se han recordado contenidos de tipo represivo que justifican la lucha por la independencia de Irlanda, la versión pro-británica tiende a reconstruirse sobre eventos más institucionales que legitiman el mantenimiento del Reino Unido. 1947-El escenario de la adhesión del principado de Cachemira a la Unión India

Most versions on the Indo-Pakistani conflict generated in 1947 by the accession of Jammu and Kashmir to India, draw alterations inherited from the propagandistic machinery of the Cold War. The assumption about the abuse of supremacy exerted by India, which would have deprived this Muslim territory from the Islamic nation of Pakistan, was not such. On the contrary, if the Kashmir population had been consulted in 1947, they would have opted for the incorporation to the democratic, socialist and secular India. The revision of the ethnic and political panorama in Kashmir, the examination of the legal dispositions established by the British to regulate the accession of the native States, and the analysis of the origins of the first India-Pakistan war in 1947, will temper, in this article, an historical version sculpted during the post World War period by the Western Powers to justify their support to the Pakistani ally.La mayoría de las interpretaciones sobre el conflicto indo-pakistaní generado en 1947 por la adhesión de Jammu y Cachemira a la India arrastra vicios heredados de la maquinaria propagandística propia de la Guerra Fría. El supuesto abuso de poder ejercido por la India, que habría despojado de este territorio musulmán a la nación islámica de Pakistán, no fue tal. Por el contrario, si en 1947 la población cachemir hubiera sido consultada, habría preferido la adhesión a la democrática, socialista y secular India.
